Brief Bio of the Speaker |
Changyoung Kim obtained his B. A. in Physics from Seoul National University in1988 and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University in 1995. He performed Visiting Physicist in Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (1994-2001), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor at Yonsei University (2001-2015), and then served as Physics Professor at Seoul National University (2015-present). His research is on condensed matter theory, with a focus on finding the microscopic origins of novel physical properties of correlated electron systems by means of spectroscopic tools, especially angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. He has authored/coauthored about 170-peer-reviewed papers, including 3 Science, 5 Nature Materials and 25 Physical Review Letters. |
