Abstract

Recently, a novel collinear magnetic phase known as altermagnetism has been identified, featuring zero net magnetization alongside momentum-dependent collinear spin splitting. A comprehensive understanding of the geometric and spin characteristics of altermagnetic Fermi surfaces is essential for unraveling the unique physical phenomena arising from altermagnets and for exploring their potential applications. In this talk, I will present our findings on quantum oscillations and quasiparticle interference effects in metallic altermagnets, taking into account the roles of Zeeman splitting and spin-orbit coupling. We identify several distinct transport signatures that serve as key fingerprints for characterizing altermagnetic Fermi surfaces, enabling direct comparisons with experimental observations. Furthermore, I will discuss the unique spin precession behavior arising from altermagnetic spin splitting and explore its potential for high-efficiency spin transistor applications.
